Depending on the number of players the game will use more decks of cards. One deck consist of the following:
The deck of card is ordered from smallest to biggest. Note that there is only 1 Joker in each deck.
For the very first game the player with 3♣ starts (See Card Pattern section). In consequent games the loser starts (See End Game & Rankings section).
There are many allowable combination of cards to be played. In order to beat the cards the previous player put down, you must play the same card combination but with a higher number (there are no suits in this game). For example, if a player plays a single card of 3♣ you must play a single card with the number 4 or higher, you cannot play a 3 on a 3. When a player plays a double, you must beat it with a higher double.
You can play any amount of cards of the same number when it is your turn to start the round.
You can play a run of cards (cards in sequence) as long as you have at least 3 cards. Another player must beat your combination with a run of the same amount of cards.
Now let's combine the 2 and see what we can play.
Conseq applies when cards played on the table at different times are played like a Run. When this triggers, the next player must play the card pattern one higher than the one last played.
For example, if Player A plays 3♣. Player B plays 4♥. Player C plays 5♠. Then the next player must play a 6. This effect continues till the round ends.
When a player starts a round, he will play a certain card pattern of his choice. If you don't want to play on the card pattern (you don't want to break your combinations) you can pass. The affect of the pass ends when it returns to your turn. Therefore you can strategically pass on cards and wait for your chance.
For example, imagine there were 4 players: Player A, you, Player C and Player D. When Player A plays 3♣. You pass. Player C plays 4♦. Player D plays 8♠. Player A passes. You can now still play.
When everyone on the table passes on your card you will take the lead and can start a new card pattern or you can choose to play on top.
When you have taken the lead, when everyone passes on your cards, you can choose to 'Play on top'. You can choose to beat the card(s) you have played. When you are playing on top, no one can play. However the normal rules apply (ie. the Conseq Rule applies)
When a player plays all his cards then the player wins and will get a rank. 1 for the first player to play all his cards. When everyone but the last player plays all their cards the game ends. The loser of the game is called a "Scum" hence the name of this game.
The rankings for a 5 player game will be the following:
| # | Player | Rank |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Paul | Winner |
| 2 | David | 2nd Winner |
| 3 | John | Neutral |
| 4 | Edward | 2nd Scum |
| 5 | Tim | Scum |
If the same set of players decide to play another game, it enters a Swap Card phase. The winners of the previous game will receive the highest cards from the Scums. In a 5 player game, the Scum must give the 2 highest cards to the Winner and the 2nd Scum must give his (1) highest card to the 2nd Winner. The winners must give back ANY same amount of cards to the respective Scum.
Now that you know all the rules, it's time to Rock'n Roll!
